Jean Butler made her Danspace debut with DAY a work choreographed by Tere OíConnor. hurry marks Butlerís return to Danspace, this time as choreographer of her own work.
In this new solo Butler reconnects with her considerable history with, and training in, Irish Step Dance. Generated by a variety of modalities designed to examine the codified body, hurry offers a personal resolution to the task of balancing lyrical and kinesthetic sensibilities.
Under the direction of Jon Kinzel, this evening-length work features a profound reverence for experimentation, expressive potential, and the articulated body.
