ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Lysis is a trans-disciplinary caretaker and nightdancer based in New York.
Myssi Robinson is a Bessie award-winning performer, multi-disciplinary maker and activated caregiver raised on and recently returned to Powhatan lands / Richmond, VA. She has interpreted many dances and dances through many interpretations. Archival impulse flows through photography / word / responsive visual art / video poetry / affirmative instinct into material altars that uplift arrival, embodiment and spirit sight. Tonight’s offering honors the garden and it’s keepers. Gratitude to Jasmine Hearn, Charmaine Warren, Marýa Wethers and our Memory Fleet: Time and Trinity convergence / to Stacy Matthew Spence, Charlotte Jacobs, Raf Vertessen, Nora Stanley and Selendis Sebastian Alexander Johnson as they channeled in With in, Around, With out … me / to Okwui Okpokwasili and Peter Born for their transcendant day pulls down the sky/a night of songs / to David Thompson for stewarding LiveARC: Tending Your Financial Garden / and to Marjani Forté-Saunders and 7NMS for the ways we still float with them.
Kris Lee & Lauren Bakst live and work in New York. Their shared performance practice is dedicated to the embodied transmission of queer archives and erotics.

Located in the historic St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery, Danspace shares its facility with the Church, The Poetry Project, and New York Theatre Ballet. Danspace Project’s Commissioning Initiative has commissioned nearly 600 new works since its inception in 1994.
