taisha paggett: Fila Buster in the Autotuniverse

Fila Buster in the Autotuniverse from taisha paggett on Vimeo.

We’re loving this video we just found by taisha paggett. It’s a great companion piece to taisha’s 2013 Danspace Project commission, a right-angled object who lost her faith in being upright.

This video was created as part of the installation LET’S USE THESE THINGS for Commonwealth & Council gallery in Los Angeles. LET’S USE THESE THINGS was a performative installation built around Fila Buster, a trans-historical figure who attempts to choreograph questions around how we relate to the objects of the world and make use of them. LET’S USE THESE THINGS was an altar to time, memory, history and the possibilities of new meaning through repetition. LET’S USE THESE THINGS was a work that believed everything that has ever been is here and ready for you.
