DD Dorvillier on “A catalogue of steps”
May 20, 2014
“The older works are permanently situated in my past from where they continue to teach me things and remain intact like silly putty, like history. The fragments allow me to get closer to a mysterious and slippery purpose of choreography. To ask why and how and what it does.”
-DD Dorvillier in conversation with Jenn Joy, Diary of an Image catalogue.
A catalogue of steps is a conceptual reframing of all the choreographic content culled from videos of DD Dorvillier’s works from 1990 to 2004. There are over 300 of these fragments.
