Curating as a verb: What is artist-centered curatorial practice?

Over July 25-26, Wesleyan University’s Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance (ICPP) will host a two-day convening of leaders in the performing arts field.  Attendees will discuss topics including creating an artist-centered curatorial practice, and the curator’s role in activating the public imagination around live performance.

Danspace Project and ICPP will co-present two events to be livestreamed from Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts on Friday, July 25, 2014:

Panel Discussion

Curating as a verb: What is artist-centered curatorial practice?

Drawing from diverse experiences and projects ICPP faculty Philip Bither (Walker Art Center), Judy Hussie-Taylor (Danspace Project), and Thomas Lax (Museum of Modern Art) will address how they engage with artists in their current practice.  Moderated by Pamela Tatge, Director of Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts.

by ICPP faculty Kristy Edmunds (Director, Center for the Art of Performance, UCLA)
