Covid Safety at Danspace Project – Danspace Project

Danspace Project Protocols for COVID-19 (as of August 2023)

Thank you for taking the time to read, consider, and comply with our current COVID-19 policy. Danspace’s plans, policies, and guidance to Danspace community members will adapt and be updated as needed with our understanding of current COVID-19 trends.

Symptoms: A space of collective care and awareness can only be achieved together. Whether you are a part of our staff, an artist, audience member, or any other visitor, stay home and take care of yourself if you have any COVID-19, cold, or flu-like symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 5 days.

Masking: Wearing a mask to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 is now optional for most events but is highly encouraged always. Masks may be required for specific events including our *open dress rehearsals.

Testing:

  • All Staff, Artists, and Audiences are strongly encouraged to know their status. Rapid tests are available on site and may be requested for use at any time.
  • Regular testing for COVID-19 is not required of Staff or Audiences.
  • Performing artists (if unmasked) are only required to use COVID-19 rapid tests before performing for open dress rehearsals (provided by Danspace Project).
  • Additional Testing protocols may be implemented for Artists and Staff members who have had a known exposure to COVID-19.

*Open dress rehearsals: Whenever possible, Tuesday evening dress rehearsals at Danspace Project will be free with RSVP and open to the public at limited-capacity. Open dress rehearsals are a mask-required, community-minded program prioritizing our immunocompromised and low-income audiences. Staff and audiences will be required to wear masks (N95 or KN95) and performing artists (if unmasked) will be  required to test for COVID-19 (rapid tests provided by Danspace Project).

Vaccinations & Boosters: Proof of vaccination status is not required of Artists, Staff, or Audiences.

Ventilation: Four indoor air purifier machines are used in the Sanctuary. Do not move, unplug, or modify the settings of these air purifiers without consulting Danspace staff.
