Vinson Fraley is a New York City based multimedia artist. He was a member of A.I.M by Kyle Abraham from 2015 until joining the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company in 2017, for whom he has also contributed original musical compositions. 

Pneuma, which translates to “soul” and “air in motion,” delves into shaping a universal breath that creates space for a more liberated future. This work celebrates life, reflects on loss, and engages in a ritual of returning to embodiment. By fluidly navigating various forms of expression including voice, movement, text, and music, the piece paints an abstract picture of the ambiguities in our relationships with ourselves and nature, the spiritual and the digital, as well as the past and the present. Pneuma prompts us to question how we can bridge seemingly rigid concepts with a sense of the poetic. How can we expand the capacity for breath within and beyond the confines of the body?

Seeking to expand the language of dance, award-winning Bebe Miller’s work encompasses choreography, writing, film, video, and digital media. Miller founded Bebe Miller Company in New York in 1985, garnering recognition from the Kennedy Center, four New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” awards, the Guggenheim Fellowship, and as Distinguished Professor Emerita in The Ohio State University’s Department of Dance. She recently set her work Rain (1989) on A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham.

Indifferent Forest is an improvised dance created and performed by Bebe Miller, Angie Hauser, and Darrell Jones. “The world doesn’t wait for an explanation, and yet we persist. Our living together depends on the generative rub between us, in relation to the moment at hand; our dancing together depends on the same.” In this dance, Miller writes, “we’re counting on the ground between us all to take us home.”

Vinson Fraley is a New York City based multimedia artist. He was born in Statesville, North Carolina and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He began his formal training in voice and drama at DeKalb School of the Arts. He started dancing at the age of 14 at DanceMakers of Atlanta. Fraley received his BFA in dance from NYU Tisch in 2015. During his final year of college he became a member of Kyle Abraham’s A.I.M (Abraham.In.Motion) and later joined the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company in 2017. Some of Vinson’s collaborators include Carrie Mae Weems, Sterling Ruby, Damien Jalet, Kohei Nawa, Bobbi Jene Smith, Holland Andrews, Sara Mearns, Terri Lynn Carrington, Boysnoize, Mario Sorrenti, Kenyon Victor Adams, Janet Biggs, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The American Modern Opera Company, and Arts at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), and MIT. He has had the opportunity to present works in the US, Germany, and France. Recently his work has been seen at The Joyce Theater, Lincoln Center, The Water Mill Center, Harlem Stage, and The Peter Brant Foundation. His movement direction has been seen in videos by Calvin Klein, Burberry, Theory, Serpentwithfeet, Madonna, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Nike, and Pattern Beauty. Vinson contributed an original music composition for the Bill T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Company’s work titled Afterwardsness. He is signed to DNA Models and United Talent Agency. His work has been written about and featured in various publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker, Interview Magazine, Vanity Fair,System Magazine, I-d Magazine, Highsnobiety, Document Journal, and Dance Magazine. He was photographed by Inez and Vinoodh for the cover of V Magazine. He has also appeared in worldwide campaigns and commercials for Calvin Klein, Apple, and Pandora.

Bebe Miller’s vision of dance and performance resides in her faith in the moving body as a record of thought, experience and sheer beauty.  She has collaborated with artists, composers, writers, and designers, along with the dancers who share her studio practice and from whom she’s learned what dancing can reveal. A native New Yorker, she formed Bebe Miller Company in 1985. Since then, the Company has been commissioned by Brooklyn Academy of Music’s NEXT WAVE Festival, The Joyce Theater, Wexner Center for the Arts, On The Boards, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Theater Artaud, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Bates Dance Festival, Dance Theater Workshop, New York Live Arts and Danspace Project, and has performed worldwide. The Company’s work encompasses choreography, writing and film, along with digital archive products that share their creative practice. Bebe is aProfessor Emerita at Ohio State University, and though her home is in Columbus, OH she is spending a year in a forest on Vashon Island, WA.
